How deepfakes changed the game of online violence – nowadays face swap apps and AI image generators are available to everyone anytime and everywhere. AI generated images are used to spread antisemitism, sabotage the political discourse and even elections, shame women and ruin lives with disinformation. We can no longer believe our eyes online and still, this what we are trained to do. All of this is happening in an unregulated space. The talk will give insights in the way artificial images are used, which threats they pose to individuals and societies and how regulation could respond to this new threat.
